NEWS -

  • Mass. ASA Softball is pleased to announce that Mr. Jeff Amaral of Freetown has been selected as our new State Umpire-In-Chief. A five member panel unanimously selected Jeff after thorough interviews with three interested candidates. Jeff brings with him over 25 years of dedicated ASA service in which he's officiated in 9 National Tournaments and countless state and regional tournaments as well. Commissioner Joe Alfonse stated, "Jeff Amaral was the hiring committee's choice based on preparation, interview, and his long standing service to ASA." Our thanks to both Mr. Rich Silva and Mr. Roy Ballard who also interviewed for the position and presented themselves in an outstanding manner. Both gentlemen brought many great ideas and programs to light and we hope that they will continue to help the ASA grow in Massachusetts.
